Motorcycle Gloves Are Required

Motorcycle gloves could be seen as just an old man thing and not much of an actual requirement. However, motorcycle gloves are more important than you think and should be worn each time you ride. I've been riding since 1973 and after my fifteenth year of riding and suffering road rash and other injuries on my fingers and hands, I've been enlightened.
In hot weather leather gloves seem to be a useless motorcycle accessory, maybe because dad wore them or some other old men wear them and they don't look cool during the summer; but motorcycle gloves actually do serve an important purpose. Gloves keep your hands from sweating on the front brake and clutch levers, and throttle. You do not want to lose grip on any of these at a crucial moment when your life may depend on it; now if one of these are wet your hand can slip right off.  Gloves will not keep your hands from sweating but they will give you a much better grip. Check and see for yourself if you don't have a better grip with a good pair of leather gloves on in hot or cold weather. Personally I prefer Harley Davidson accessories because of the quality of their items.
A good pair of leather gloves will protect your hands from much misery. Imagine riding down the highway and a large bug hits your pinky, and any experienced rider will tell you that when you’re on the freeway and a gravel truck passes you will be pinged everywhere from small rocks including those pinkies. But the biggest hazard is when you land on the pavement hands first. When you drop a bike you will immediately break the fall with your hands. If an experienced rider tells you he never dropped a bike he is a liar, and when he or she did they were either glad they had them or wished they had. Sooner or later you will drop it and catching yourself with leather gloves will better protect you from the rash we all hate so much.

I also have to say that when you're learning to ride don't ride very fast until you know your bike, and after a few months of riding you will understand "know your bike". In the beginning just take it easy on side streets a while before getting on the freeway and don't scrimp on a good pair of gloves for they are one of the most important must haves in all motorcycle accessories.
See this video below for some evidence.

Cold Weather Riding
It won't be hard to get people to wear gloves in cold weather. The wind chill factor lowers by about fifty percent when riding in cold weather. Make sure your winter gloves are heavily insulated as well as leather. Numb fingers do not make for safe riding.
Losing control of a seven hundred pound bike can often mean a loss of life. This is just another example why gloves are a very important motorcycle accessory.

I've been a biker since 1973 and have a good working knowledge of biker gear. Hot weather or cold it's possible to be more comfortable using the right gear which I can help with.
